About Mrs. Siewny

I was born and raised in Bridgeport, Ohio and attended Bridgeport High School (Go Bulldogs!)  I am a 1994 graduate of Ohio University where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Art Education with an emphasis of Graphic Design and Ceramics.  I taught elementary art in Belpre, Ohio as well as art classes at Parkersburg Art Center in Parkersburg, WV.  I married my wonderful husband in 1997 and moved on to teach elementary art at Wheeling Country Day School in Wheeling, WV as well as at the Sifel Fine Arts Center in Wheeling.  In 2003, my husband and I moved our family to Elkins, WV where he could advance his engineering career.  I was able to teach art to toddlers, preschoolers and school aged students at the newly opened Randolph County Community Art Center.  In 2008, I earned a teaching position with Randolph County Schools teaching art.  I taught middle school art, Art I-IV, ceramics and studio art  (Pre-AP).  I also served as the National Art Honor Society Sponsor and was the class sponser for the class of 2013.  I was active in the West Virginia Art Education Association serving as the secretary and as the Youth Art Month Chairperson.  It was a bittersweet decision to leave Elkins, WV.  We felt we were given an opportunity we could not pass up to move to Columbus, Ohio.   We settled our family in Pickerington because we felt it was a good fit for our family. I was so excited to be offered a position to teach elementary art at Heritage and Sycamore Creek elementary schools!  I am happy to be teaching elementary art again.  I can honestly say every day that, "I love my job!'  I love sharing my love of the arts with energetic elementary students and I enjoy seeing them grow and learn through art.

I am a mom to four very active children.  Ethan (class of 2017), Kamden (class of 2020) and Katie and Kimmy (class of 2022).  They all attended or currently attend Pickerington High School Central School.  My husband, Patrick is an Engineering Manager at Mars Petcare.   My son Ethan works at Fedex, and my son Kamden attends Ohio University to pursue a degree in Health and Physical Education.  Katie is a competitive cheerleader and Kimmy rides horses. I love to paint, knit and do anything artsy.  I enjoy watching football, walking , playing golf and archery. I also enjoy having game nights with my family.  My favorite games are Canasta, Sequence, and Goblet.

We also have four silly cats, a bunny, a guinea pig and a hamster.
